In July of 1975 Bro. J.D. Steelman, Bro. Frank Walkup, Bro. Wayne Smith and their families stepped out on faith and began a new church in Wister, Oklahoma.
The church was not officially organized until December 26, 1975 which was during the couple years that Bro. Wayne Fowler was Pastor.
Bro. J.D. Steelman returned as Pastor and not long afterwards Bro. John Blackwood asked if the church would be the mother church to the one he was starting in Westville.
Old Pathway moved to Heavener, Oklahoma in July 1985 where Bro. J.D. Steelman pastored until the end of July 2007. Bro. Jesse West Pastored from August 2007 until April 2010. Bro. David Presson became interim Pastor in June 2010 and was voted in as Pastor from March 2011 until early 2023.
The church then called Bro. Kent Hogan to be their Pastor on December 24, 2023.
